Our member organizations serve 220,000 women and children in New Jersey

The statistics are hard to ignore. 

• Battering is the number one cause of injury to women
• Women are five times more likely than men to die in poverty
• A woman is raped every two minutes
• Over 30% of working women earn wages at or below the poverty level
• Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in young women ages 15-40
• Men make up 100% of NJ’s delegation to the US Congress and 84% of NJ's State Legislature
• NJ ranks 5th in the nation of people diagnosed with AIDS and 3rd in the nation of people diagnosed with HIV

 What will your contribution do? 

• $50  will give 50 women the resources to reduce the risk of HIV infection
• $50  will provide career counseling for one woman
• $75  will help fund hotlines, crisis intervention, and information and referral services to victims of  sexual assault for one week
• $180  will provide counseling, education, and employment training services for a displaced homemaker for one year
• $220  will provide reproductive health care, including contraception, to a woman for one year
• $150  will provide one woman English lessons for a month
• $1000  will help one woman and her family leave an abusive home by helping with moving expenses, airline tickets or a security deposit
